Recently I embarked on a trip from Hammond IN to Waukegan IL. It was a little over 50 miles on Lake MI and about 8 to 9 hours long. I posted a link below if you are interested in seeing some of the video i did of the trip.
I also talk about many topics from motorsailing to autopilot. Not just sailing conversations but also about being on autopilot in life!!. You see as i was sailing I began to get tired. So I tied of the tiller and let the boat sail on autopilot for a bit. I got a little distracted and realized how far off track i could have gotten if I remained on autopilot. It got me to thinking about my life and how I am constantly fighting to try and stay in tune and in contact with our heavenly Father. It remided me of James and how he talked about how a tiny rudder can steer masive ships off course or how tiny sparks can cause massive fires and how our tounges can steer our lives into the rocks if we arent careful and intentional. Being on autopilot is so easy sometimes and its hard to take the helm and be intentional with our lives , our words, or finances and our time. I have found that staying anchored in the word is my best defense in the storms of life. Sometimes a word can just resonate in your spirit at just the right moment and give you the strength you need to endure whatever challenges you are facing. So keep seeking him and keep praying and reading your bible daily. He will give the peace you are longing for and guide you through the storms of life. So stay awake, connected and listen so you dont get off course on Autopilot!! Stay anchored in the word and in the spirit of Jesus Christ!!.
